Since the founding of  "Negro History Month" in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson (renamed Black History Month in 1976), the month of February offers a special opportunity each year to celebrate the contributions of African Americans in all walks of life.  Now is a great time to [learn more](https://woodsonmuseum.org/) about the life and work of Carter G. Woodson.
